COMEDY
The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2013)
Starring: Steve Carell, Jim Carrey, Olivia Wilde
Directed by: Don Scardino
Rating: PG-13
Run time: 100 minutes
Synopsis: When a street magician's stunts begins to make their show look stale, superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone and Anton Marvelton look to salvage on their act - and their friendship - by staging their own daring stunt.
Overall, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone is a fairly decent parody of popular magicians. Jim Carrey steals the scenes that he's in with his take on shock magicians like Criss Angel. Alan Arkin and Steve Buscemi also do a good job in supporting roles. Olivia Wilde is as lovely as always. However, the biggest downfall is how annoying Steve Carell's character is.

Scary Movie (2013)
Starring: Ashley Tisdale, Simon Rex, Molly Shannon
Directed by: Malcolm D. Lee
Rating: PG-13
Run time: 86 minutes
Synopsis: A couple begin to experience some unusual activity after bringing their lost nieces and nephew home. With the help of home-surveillance cameras, they learn they're being stalked by a nefarious demon.
As the least successful in the Scary Movie franchise, the fifth film doesn't really offer any laughs. Part of this is the choice in what was spoofed. Black Swan and Inception were released in 2010. Others included Paranormal Activity, Mama, Cabin in the Woods, Evil Dead and randomly Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Another big hit to the franchise was loss of the Wayans brothers, Anna Faris, Regina Hall and the other recognizable cast members from the previous films.
