the studs was formed by Daisuke (ex-Kagerou) and aie (ex-Deadman). Both of their previous bands had disbanded earlier in the year. Yukino (ex-Gullet) and Hibiki joined shortly afterward. Yukino and Hibiki had previously worked with aie. The band seemed like it would have a bright future ahead of it when their first mini album, studs, was released in June 2007. 

 

 

The quartet toured through the remainder of the year. 2008 would be marked with a series of multiple releases. January saw the release of their first maxi-single, Niji no iro. Their second maxi-single, gaze, was released the following month. March would see the release of their first full-length album, and hate. A tour followed in May to support the releases.

 

 

Another triple release followed in October 2008 with the singles, Creepy Crawly, Ano Oto, and Tobari. December would bring another single, Spider Nest/Yami Nochi Ame. They didn't slow down, starting a spring tour that consisted of all sold out dates. In March 2009, Hibiki announced he'd be leaving the band on April 10th. The band continued as a trio with Sasabuchi Hiroshi (ex-Plastic Tree) joining as support drummer. 

 

 

The middle of May brought the release of their second album, alansmithee. Five days after this release, the studs announced that they would be going on indefinite hiatus beginning July 20th, 2009. Each member began working on other projects with aie forming the god and death stars. Daisuke began his own solo project titled Daisuke to kuro no injatachi. Sadly, there was no chance of the band resuming their activitues as Daisuke passed away on July 15, 2010. Any hope of a reunion between the members ended on July 15th, 2010 when Daisuke passed away. His legacy lives on through the music he made with Kagerou. I miss you, Daisuke.
